Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Gloucestershire Salary: £55,000- £57,000 Hours: Double Day Shift
The Opportunity We are working with a well-established manufacturing business based in the York area that is looking to appoint an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its busy engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining plant performance, minimising downtime and supporting ongoing site improvement projects.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing site through a combination of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
Key responsibilities will include:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance in line with established schedules. Responding to reactive maintenance requirements to minimise production downtime and disruption. Supporting engineering activities focused on improving plant and equipment performance. Identifying technical issues and implementing effective engineering solutions. Supporting and overseeing engineering improvement projects across the site. Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Contributing to the development and implementation of engineering standards for key equipment and facilities. Promoting and maintaining high standards of Health & Safety at all times. Supporting site development projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Providing engineering support to colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment. About You The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background gained within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment, with experience across both mechanical and electrical machinery. You will be a hands-on, practical engineer who is confident diagnosing faults, resolving breakdowns and identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance. Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience and qualifications. Experience working within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement
