Museum Cataloguer

Salary: £34,384 (£27,507 Pro Rata) Location: Edinburgh Fixed Term Contract for 18 months at 28 hours per week. Days of work to be discussed at interview. The College seeks to appoint a Museum Cataloguer to catalogue museum object collections to agreed professional standards onto the College’s online catalogue CALM. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate in museum studies, experience of cataloguing museum collections and an interest in the history of medicine. The Role Please refer to the Job Description for full details. · This role will focus on producing accurate catalogue records. · The role will also be responsible for updating cataloguing guidelines where appropriate. Person Specification · Experience working with museum collections. · In-depth knowledge of museum cataloguing standards. · Postgraduate qualification in museum studies. · Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to talk to, listen to, understand and influence multiple stakeholders, within the College community and externally. · Methodical and organised with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. · Ability to set and achieve targets. · Ability to work independently, managing own workload, prioritising and organising time effectively. · Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel. Remuneration Package The salary for this role will be £34,384 FTE per annum plus benefits. Additional benefits include: Pension: with employer contributions of 9%.
