About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-driven National Account Manager to manage and grow key retail accounts within the FMCG sector, based in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK . This role is crucial for maintaining and expanding relationships with major grocery multiples and wholesalers, ensuring our client's brands achieve optimal visibility and sales performance. You will be at the forefront of commercial strategy, driving revenue growth and profitability across a defined portfolio of products, working within a supportive team environment that values strong commercial relationships and strategic account planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve ambitious sales targets and profit objectives for key FMCG accounts in the UK .
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers at major retail chains and wholesale partners, fostering collaborative business partnerships.
- Negotiate trading terms, promotional activities, and category strategies to maximize brand presence and sales volume within designated accounts.
- Conduct regular business reviews with accounts, analysing sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and address challenges.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure effective service delivery and alignment with account requirements.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and manage account budgets effectively, ensuring profitability and efficient resource allocation for the Birmingham region.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a National Account Manager or Key Account Manager within the FMCG industry.
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets and managing major retail accounts.
- Strong understanding of the grocery retail landscape and category management principles in the UK .
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a professional and persuasive approach.
- Proficiency in sales forecasting, data analysis, and financial reporting tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred.
