About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Account Manager to manage key retail accounts for their FMCG portfolio, based in the Reading area. This crucial role involves building and nurturing strong relationships with major retail partners, driving sales growth, and developing strategic account plans to maximize brand presence and profitability. You will be the primary point of contact for your assigned accounts, ensuring seamless collaboration and driving mutual success. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both remotely and from our offices in Reading , engaging with a fast-paced and rewarding industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic business plans for assigned national retail accounts to achieve ambitious sales and profit targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders within major retail organizations.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, promotions, and shelf space with retail partners to optimize brand performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance) to ensure effective execution of account strategies.
- Analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Present business reviews, insights, and recommendations to both internal leadership and retail partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in national account management within the FMCG sector , with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic account plans and exceed sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent understanding of the UK retail landscape and key decision-makers.
- Proficiency in sales forecasting and data analysis tools.
