About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-oriented National Sales Manager to drive sales performance and expand market reach for their diverse portfolio of FMCG products across the UK. This hybrid role, based near Newcastle upon Tyne , will involve leading a high-performing sales team, developing strategic account plans, and fostering strong relationships with key retail partners. You will play a critical role in achieving ambitious sales targets, identifying new business opportunities, and implementing effective sales strategies to maintain and enhance our client's competitive edge in the dynamic FMCG market. This position is ideal for a seasoned sales leader with a deep understanding of the UK retail landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive national sales strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of regional sales representatives, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key national accounts and retail buyers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments within the FMCG sector.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to forecast sales, identify areas for improvement, and inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts with company objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a similar senior sales role, with a strong background in FMCG.
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent understanding of sales principles, negotiation techniques, and account management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive performance.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
