About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer to join their innovative AI & Emerging Technologies team in Edinburgh . You will be instrumental in developing and implementing advanced NLP models and techniques to extract insights from unstructured text data. This role involves working on challenging projects such as sentiment analysis, text summarization, machine translation, and chatbot development. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers and data scientists to create intelligent systems that understand and process human language, contributing to products that revolutionize how users interact with information and technology, working in a collaborative office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy NLP models for tasks like text classification, entity recognition, and question answering.
• Utilize and adapt state-of-the-art NLP libraries and frameworks (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, NLTK).
• Process and clean large volumes of text data for model training and evaluation.
• Collaborate with product teams to integrate NLP capabilities into user-facing applications.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in natural language processing and AI.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience focused on NLP development and application.
• Proficiency in Python and key NLP libraries and tools.
• Solid understanding of machine learning principles and deep learning architectures relevant to NLP.
• Experience with data preprocessing techniques for text data.
