Network Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT department in Manchester . This hybrid role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's core network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and robust security across all operations. You will play a key part in managing network hardware, software, and services, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to strategic network planning. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
• Ensure the security of the network through regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and implementation of security best practices.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for network-related incidents and problems, resolving issues promptly.
• Collaborate with system administrators and other IT personnel on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network hardware.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG) and network simulation software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent experience.
