Network Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their technology department in Bradford . This role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and secure network infrastructure that supports the company's operations. You will play a key part in ensuring network performance, availability, and scalability, working on projects that enhance our digital capabilities. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and collaborative problem-solving within a hybrid work model, balancing remote flexibility with essential on-site team interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
• Ensure network security by implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, providing timely support to internal users.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades and new implementations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar infrastructure role.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking , routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
• Experience with network security principles and tools (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
