About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to enhance their technology infrastructure team in Sheffield . This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and secure network systems that support the organization's operations. You will be involved in managing LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring high availability and performance. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of networking technologies, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing a stable and efficient network environment for users across Sheffield and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, and configure network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance and security, implementing necessary upgrades and optimizations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid recovery.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect against threats.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
- Proficiency in network monitoring and analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for network challenges in Sheffield .
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
