Network Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Reading . This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing the company's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. You will be involved in both on-site deployments and remote configuration and monitoring, making this a dynamic hybrid position. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network technologies and a proactive approach to maintaining robust and secure communication systems for the business operations in Berkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization.
• Develop and implement network security measures to protect against threats.
• Manage network cabling infrastructure and ensure proper documentation.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support for network-related issues.
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades and migrations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in network engineering and infrastructure management.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
• Experience with network security principles and technologies (firewalls, VPNs).
• Familiarity with both wired and wireless network environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving network issues in Reading .
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing on-site and remote tasks.
