Network Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is searching for a skilled and meticulous Network Installation Engineer to enhance their technical deployment team, operating with a hybrid model out of Reading . This role is central to the successful setup and configuration of network infrastructure for businesses across various sectors. You will be responsible for installing, testing, and commissioning network hardware, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance for clients. This is a key position within the Installation & Maintenance field, offering the chance to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to robust IT solutions in the Reading region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Run and terminate network cabling (e.g., Ethernet, fibre optic) according to industry standards.
• Perform network testing and diagnostics to ensure system functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues during installation and post-deployment.
• Document network configurations, infrastructure layouts, and installation procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams and clients to understand requirements and ensure successful project completion.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Installation Engineer or similar role.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and network security.
• Proficiency with network installation tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with structured cabling systems and network hardware.
• Ability to work independently and manage site-based installation tasks effectively.
• Must be able to travel to client sites in and around Reading , with some remote administrative duties.
