Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join their critical operations team in Liverpool . In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the company's telecommunications network infrastructure 24/7. Your primary objective will be to ensure network availability, performance, and security, responding swiftly to alerts and resolving issues to minimize service disruption. This is an essential position for an individual who excels in a high-pressure environment and is dedicated to upholding network integrity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and security using sophisticated monitoring tools and alerting systems.
• Respond promptly and effectively to network incidents, performing initial diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate engineering teams, providing detailed information for resolution.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Perform routine network health checks and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Assist in the implementation of network changes and configuration updates under supervision.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a NOC environment or a similar network monitoring role.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP , routing protocols, and network topologies.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and ticketing systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear incident reporting.
