About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to join their remote-based team, supporting operations across Scotland. This role is critical for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the network infrastructure 24/7, ensuring maximum uptime and performance. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving network incidents, escalating issues when necessary, and ensuring that service level agreements are consistently met. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and security using various NOC tools and systems.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network and system incidents in a timely manner.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or relevant teams according to established procedures.
- Document all network events, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately.
- Perform regular system checks and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of NOC procedures and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a Network Operations Centre or similar IT support environment.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and topologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring software (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a rotating schedule.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, essential for reporting and escalation in a remote setting.
