Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and proactive Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to join their dedicated team in Reading . This essential role involves monitoring the company's telecommunications network infrastructure 24/7, identifying and responding to network incidents, and ensuring the continuous availability of services. You will be the first line of defence against network outages and performance issues, playing a crucial part in maintaining customer satisfaction within the telecoms sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using state-of-the-art NOC tools and dashboards.
• Detect, diagnose, and respond to network alarms and service disruptions in real-time.
• Initiate incident management processes, documenting all actions taken and escalations.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of network faults and escalate complex issues to senior engineers.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding network status and incident resolution.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of NOC procedures and best practices.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Network Operations Centre or similar IT support environment.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and ticketing systems.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and network hardware.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a 24/7 operation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm during critical incidents.
