About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and technically adept Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer to join their critical operations team in Portsmouth . This role is vital for ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of their telecommunications network. You will be responsible for monitoring network status, identifying and resolving incidents, and implementing proactive measures to prevent service disruptions. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the company's telecom network infrastructure using advanced monitoring tools and platforms.
• Detect, diagnose, and respond to network incidents and alerts in a timely and efficient manner.
• Perform initial troubleshooting and resolve network issues according to established procedures and SLAs.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or relevant support teams when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of network events, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Network Operations Centre or similar IT support role.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and ticketing systems.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
• Ability to work effectively in a shift-based rota, including nights and weekends.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
