Network Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant Network Security Analyst to join their security operations team, based in Plymouth . This hybrid role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles to protect critical telecommunications infrastructure. You will be responsible for monitoring network traffic, detecting potential threats, and responding to security incidents to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our client's network. You will play a vital role in safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining service continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network security infrastructure, including firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
• Analyze security alerts and events to identify and investigate potential cyber threats.
• Respond to security incidents, providing containment, eradication, and recovery support.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Develop and implement security policies and procedures to enhance network defense.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Security Analyst or in a similar cybersecurity role.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies (SIEM, endpoint security, etc.).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities.
