Network Security Engineer (SOC)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Network Security Engineer to join a department to assist with protecting critical systems and ensuring the security of network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Playing a key role in safeguarding the organisations network infrastructure

Working with the SOC team on incident response and triage activity

Designing and implementing robust security solutions to protect against threats

Collaborating with cross functional teams, implementing changes securely

Identifying vulnerabilities and managing security incidents

Ensuring compliance with industry best practices

The ideal candidate would have:

Understanding of cyber security capabilities

Existing knowledge of Darktrace Antigena and Respond

Strong ability to interpret complex information via use of packet capture

Proven ability to review SOC alerting

The ideal candidate must have:

Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching and VLANs

Strong expertise in configuring and troubleshooting firewalls e.g. Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto

Hands on experience in next-gen firewalls and advancing security features

Experience in managing secure proxy solutions

Understanding of network architectures and security zones

In depth knowledge of security protocols

Proficient in monitoring technologies
