Newly Qualified Corporate Solicitor – Cardiff / Swansea

TSR Legal has recently been instructed to assist a well-established South Wales law firm as they look to add a Newly Qualified Solicitor to their Corporate department, with flexibility for the successful candidate to be based in Cardiff or Swansea.

Our client has a strong commercial offering and advises businesses ranging from start-ups and owner-managed companies through to established regional and national organisations.

The opportunity has been created as the Corporate team continues to develop and would be particularly suited to a trainee solicitor qualifying in 2026 who has enjoyed their Corporate seat and wants to build their career within transactional work.

You will work alongside experienced Corporate Solicitors and Partners and gain exposure to a broad range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, company disposals, investments, corporate restructuring, shareholder agreements and general company law matters.

As a Newly Qualified Solicitor, you will initially assist on larger transactions whilst also being given the opportunity to handle appropriate matters independently. You will be involved directly with clients from an early stage and encouraged to understand the commercial drivers behind transactions rather than simply undertaking individual elements of the legal process.

The firm is interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong academics and training together with a genuine interest in Corporate law. Previous experience within a Corporate seat is expected, although the quality of the experience and the candidate’s commercial approach will be more important than the size of firm in which they trained.
