Newly Qualified Paediatric Occupational Therapist

About the role

Words First is looking for a newly qualified Occupational Therapist to join our multi‑disciplinary team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists and Play Therapists. You will work with a diverse group of students ranging from primary‑aged to 16+ in both mainstream and specialist school settings, providing assessments, therapy sessions, teacher training and support for students with communication difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized intervention plans for students with communication difficulties.
• Deliver therapy sessions in both mainstream and specialist school settings.
• Provide teacher training and support related to communication strategies.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic support for students.
• Participate in clinical supervision and mentorship programmes.

Qualifications

• HCPC‑approved degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration or in process of registering.
• Experience working with a paediatric caseload in a school setting (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
