Nursery Assistant (Level 2)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and caring Nursery Assistant to join their established childcare team in Nottingham . This role is ideal for an individual starting their career in childcare or looking to build upon their foundational knowledge, working under the guidance of experienced practitioners to support the daily care and education of children aged 0-5. You will assist in creating a fun, safe, and stimulating environment, engaging with children in play and learning activities, and contributing to the smooth running of the nursery, being part of a team that values teamwork, professional development, and a commitment to providing the best possible start for every child, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision and care of children, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day.
• Support the implementation of daily routines, including feeding, nappy changing, and engaging in play activities.
• Help to prepare and tidy the learning environment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and inviting for children.
• Engage with children in a variety of activities, promoting their learning and development under the direction of senior staff.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering positive relationships.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Childcare or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards one.
• A genuine passion for working with young children and an understanding of their needs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Awareness of basic safeguarding principles and a commitment to child protection.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
