Nursery Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for an energetic and dedicated Nursery Assistant to support the team at their busy childcare centre in Edinburgh . This role is perfect for someone passionate about working with children and contributing to their early development in a fun and safe environment. You will assist in providing daily care, engaging children in stimulating activities, and ensuring their well-being, working under the guidance of experienced practitioners and becoming a valued member of a supportive nursery family.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of daily routines and activities for children of various age groups.
• Assist in creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for all children.
• Engage children in play, educational games, and creative activities.
• Help with children's personal care needs, including feeding and hygiene.
• Ensure the nursery space is kept clean, tidy, and well-resourced.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to team efforts.

Requirements

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare or a related field.
• Previous experience working with children in an early years setting is advantageous.
• Good understanding of child development and safeguarding procedures.
• Enthusiastic, patient, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to undertake further training as required.
