Deputy Nursery Manager
About The Nursery
Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager for a well-established and nurturing Nursery setting in Streatham, Lambeth. The nursery is highly regarded within the local community for its caring environment, child-centred approach, and commitment to providing high-quality early years education. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting, maintaining high standards of care and learning, and ensuring compliance with EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
Contract / Position Details
Location: Streatham, South West London Position: Deputy Nursery Manager Type of Work: Supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operation of the nursery, overseeing staff, ensuring high-quality childcare and education, maintaining compliance, and promoting children's learning and development Start Date: As soon as possible Contract Type: Permanent Full time/part time: 4 Days a week (Mon - Thurs) Rate of Pay: GBP35,000 per annum Hours: 8:00am - 6:00pm
Experience, Training And Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 Childcare Qualification (essential) Level 5 qualification in Early Years Leadership and Management (essential) Minimum 2 years' experience working within a Nursery or Early Years setting Previous experience in a Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy Manager position is highly desirable Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and safeguarding procedures Experience supporting staff development, supervision, and performance management Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills Up-to-date Safeguarding training
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service (or be willing to apply for one) Provide two recent professional references covering the last two years
