Nursery Practitioner (Level 2)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner (Level 2) to join their vibrant childcare setting in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5, working as part of a dedicated team. You will contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive, learn, and develop key skills in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, serving families in the Hampshire region.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with children in play-based learning activities that promote their holistic development.
• Support children's daily routines, including feeding, nappy changing, and personal hygiene.
• Observe and record children's progress, contributing to their learning journals and development profiles.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, adhering strictly to nursery policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers about their child's progress and daily experiences.
• Maintain a clean and organised learning environment, ensuring all resources are safe and accessible.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education.
• Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or similar setting is advantageous.
• A good understanding of the EYFS framework and child protection guidelines.
• Positive attitude, patient, and passionate about working with children.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
