Nursery Practitioner

About the Role

Our client is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join their dedicated team in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for providing exceptional care and education to children aged between 0 and 5 years, supporting their holistic development in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Working as part of a friendly and professional team, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging activities that promote learning through play. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about early childhood education and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Plan and implement stimulating and age-appropriate activities that encourage children's development in all areas.
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress, maintaining accurate learning journeys and communicating findings with parents.
• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children, adhering to strict safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment, ensuring adequate resources are available.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the needs of each child.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare (e.g., NVQ, Cache).
• Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
• Good knowledge of the EYFS framework and child protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative.
• A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to their development.
