About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Nursery Room Leader to manage the toddler unit in their well-regarded nursery in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves leading a small team, ensuring the highest standards of care and education for children aged 1-2 years. You will be responsible for creating an inspiring and safe learning environment, fostering developmental milestones, and liaising closely with parents to support each child's unique journey. This position is ideal for a dedicated childcare professional looking to take on more responsibility within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, guide, and support a team of nursery practitioners within the toddler room, fostering a positive and professional working atmosphere.
- Develop and implement creative, stimulating, and age-appropriate learning experiences that align with the EYFS framework and individual children's needs.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress, documenting findings and creating personalized learning plans.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, including safeguarding, health, and safety policies, maintaining meticulous records.
- Foster strong communication channels with parents and families, providing regular feedback and building collaborative relationships to support children's development at home and in the nursery.
- Manage resources effectively within the toddler room, ensuring a well-resourced and inspiring environment for the children.
Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Care (e.g., NVQ, NNEB, CACHE).
- Demonstrable experience in a senior or leadership role within a nursery setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework , child protection, and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care.
