Nursery Room Leader

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Room Leader to manage and lead one of their busy rooms in Portsmouth . This role involves overseeing the daily care and educational activities for a specific age group, ensuring a stimulating and safe environment where children can learn and develop. You will be responsible for mentoring a team of practitioners within your room, fostering a positive and collaborative working atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early years development, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for providing high-quality childcare. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the room operates smoothly and meets all educational and care standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of nursery practitioners within your assigned room, providing guidance and support.
• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that align with the EYFS curriculum.
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and developmental needs of all children in your care are met.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of children's progress and development.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates and fostering strong home-school links.
• Uphold the nursery's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare.
• Previous experience as a Room Leader or in a senior childcare role.
• Thorough knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• A passion for early years education and child development.
