Offshore Telecoms Technician
Location:Barrow In Furness - Offshore
Contract: 12 month+ Contract
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Offshore Telecoms Technician to support offshore operations at the Morecambe Hub.
The successful Offshore Telecoms Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, testing and replacing offshore telecoms systems and equipment, ensuring high levels of reliability, availability and safety.
This Offshore Telecoms Technician role is suited to candidates with proven offshore telecoms maintenance experience within the oil and gas / E&P industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance as an Offshore Telecoms Technician on offshore telecoms systems and equipment
- The Offshore Telecoms Technician will troubleshoot faults and carry out first-line maintenance to minimise operational impact
- Complete inspections, testing and calibration activities as an Offshore Telecoms Technician
- Identify faults and take appropriate corrective action
- Plan and prioritise Offshore Telecoms Technician maintenance activities in line with offshore work programmes
- Raise and manage work orders, maintenance activities and system modifications through the MMS
- Identify and requisition replacement parts and materials
- Provide clear shift handovers and communicate relevant maintenance information
- The Offshore Telecoms Technician will supervise and coordinate specialist contractors and vendor personnel where required
- Work closely with the E&I Team Lead, Production Team Lead and other offshore technicians
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an Offshore Telecoms Technician within the E&P / oil and gas industry
- Vocational qualification in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
- Experience of planned and reactive maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with maintenance management systems
- Good understanding of offshore HSEQ requirements
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively as an Offshore Telecoms Technician within a multidisciplinary offshore team
Mandatory Certifications
- Current Offshore Survival certification
- Current Offshore Medical
- Current MIST
- CompEx EX01-04
- Ability to complete Spirit Energy mandatory and compliance training as required
