About the Role
Our client, a significant force in the Energy sector with a strong focus on renewables, is seeking an experienced Offshore Wind Project Engineer to join their team in Plymouth, Devon, UK . This critical role involves supporting the development, design, and execution phases of large-scale offshore wind farm projects. You will be responsible for technical aspects, ensuring engineering integrity, coordinating with various disciplines, and contributing to the successful delivery of complex offshore infrastructure. This hybrid role allows for collaboration with the site-based teams and flexibility for remote work, playing a key part in the expansion of sustainable energy generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the technical design and engineering of offshore wind farm components, including turbines, foundations, and substations.
- Review and approve technical specifications, drawings, and calculations from suppliers and contractors.
- Support the procurement process by providing technical input and evaluating bids.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (structural, electrical, geotechnical) to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Assist in site investigations, surveys, and the assessment of environmental and marine conditions.
- Monitor project progress from an engineering perspective, identifying and resolving technical challenges.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Marine Engineering.
- Proven experience in the offshore wind industry or a related offshore engineering field.
- Strong understanding of foundation design , turbine technology, and subsea cable systems.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations for offshore structures.
- Excellent technical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software and technical documentation.
