Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client requires a dedicated and safety-conscious Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their growing renewable energy operations based out of Milton Keynes . This hands-on role is critical for ensuring the reliable performance and maintenance of our offshore wind farms. You will be responsible for carrying out scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and necessary repairs on wind turbine generators and associated equipment. Working in a challenging offshore environment demands a strong commitment to safety protocols and teamwork, making this an exciting opportunity to contribute to the UK's renewable energy goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance , and repair of wind turbine components, including gearboxes, generators, and control systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults within the turbines.
• Ensure all work is carried out in strict accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Conduct pre- and post-maintenance checks and complete detailed service reports accurately.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new turbine equipment.
• Respond to turbine faults and breakdowns, ensuring rapid response times to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Experience as a technician, preferably in the wind energy sector or a related field like mechanical engineering or electrical maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including hydraulics and control systems.
• Certification or willingness to obtain relevant offshore safety certifications (e.g., GWO).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying potential issues.
