Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client requires a dedicated and safety-conscious Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their operational team based near Sunderland . This critical role involves performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on offshore wind turbines to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. You will work as part of a highly skilled team, operating in a challenging marine environment, adhering strictly to safety protocols. The position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution, contributing directly to the generation of clean power.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting , and corrective repairs on wind turbine systems.
• Perform detailed inspections of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Respond to turbine faults and alarms, diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs using digital systems.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures, including working at height and in confined spaces.
• Participate in on-call rotas and support emergency response activities as required.

Requirements

• Recognized qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Wind Turbine technology (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC).
• Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician , preferably offshore.
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certifications (Working at Height, Sea Survival, Fire Awareness, First Aid).
• Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems , and mechanical components of wind turbines.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, often in challenging weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety excellence.
