Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their innovative and fully remote support team. While the role is remote, it will involve extensive travel to offshore wind farm sites for maintenance and repair activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of wind turbines through scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs. This is a critical role for the success of renewable energy generation, requiring a strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in challenging environments. You will be part of a team committed to maximizing energy output and maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on offshore wind turbines and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.
• Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure efficient and effective repairs.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures at all times, both onshore and offshore.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, findings, and parts used.
• Collaborate with site managers and engineering teams to provide feedback on turbine performance and potential improvements.

Requirements

• Recognized qualification or apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience working as a Wind Turbine Technician, preferably in an offshore environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within wind turbines.
• Ability to work at heights and in demanding offshore conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid GWO (Global Wind Organisation) certifications are highly desirable.
