Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting secondary pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC/ASD)? A specialist autism schoosl in Huddersfield is seeking a One to One Autism Support Assistant to provide tailored, therapeutic support to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role of a One to One Autism Support Assistant :
Provide 1:1 support for secondary pupils with autism
Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and learning
Assist with structured routines, sensory strategies, and differentiated lessons
Help implement IEPs, individual targets, and behaviour plans
Work closely with teachers, families, and external professionalsWe're Looking For a One to One Autism Support Assistant:
Experience supporting pupils with ASC/ASD or complex SEN
A patient, empathetic, and calm approach
Knowledge of autism-specific strategies, sensory needs, and low-arousal techniques
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Understanding of safeguarding and inclusionWhy Work with Academics as a One to One Autism Support Assistant?
