Online Geography Teacher

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Online Geography Teacher to join their virtual education team based in Stoke-on-Trent . This role requires a passion for geography and the ability to effectively convey complex geographical concepts through engaging online lessons. You will be responsible for developing curriculum content, assessing student progress, and fostering a supportive learning environment for students engaging with geography remotely. While the role is primarily online, occasional in-person meetings at our Stoke-on-Trent facility will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive online geography lessons for secondary school students.
• Create engaging learning materials, including interactive maps, virtual field trips, and multimedia presentations.
• Assess student understanding through assignments, quizzes, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
• Facilitate online class discussions and encourage critical thinking about global issues.
• Collaborate with other educators to refine curriculum and share best practices in online teaching.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Geography or a related field; a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) is advantageous.
• Experience in teaching geography at the secondary school level, with proven success in engaging students.
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms and educational technology tools.
• Strong knowledge of physical and human geography, and current global affairs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, adapted for an online audience.
• Ability to inspire curiosity and a deeper understanding of the world among students.
