Operations Associate - Reconciliations / Risk Control

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Associate in Shared Services & Banking Ops to to oversee critical reconciliation and risk-control activities, partnering with global stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of the Firm's books and records while driving operational excellence and process improvementIn the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Associate level position within the Glasgow location.Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.What you'll do in the role:Execute complex processes and assist a Team Manager in coordinating processes, risks and/or projects in a Team Lead capacityRecognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and leverage detailed knowledge to propose changes in processTrain others, allocate tasks and support with first line escalation where requiredShare expert knowledge across the team, contribute to team output and development, building relationships across the FirmOversee reconciliation exceptions, ensuring timely investigation, escalation, and resolution of breaks in accordance with firm policies and control standardsIdentify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency gains to improve reconciliation outcomes and client serviceWhat you'll bring to the role:Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of functional area and operational/compliance policies and procedures of their teamReconciliation / Risk Control background within Financial ServicesAbility to operate independently with respect to some job responsibilitiesCulture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core valuesExperience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools; familiarity with reconciliation platforms, reporting tools, or workflow management systems is advantageousAbility to investigate complex issues, analyze large datasets, and identify root causes to support timely resolution of operational exceptionsAt least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this roleWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
