Operations Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic manufacturer of performance chemicals, is seeking a motivated Operations Chemical Engineer to join their production facility in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This hands-on role focuses on optimizing day-to-day plant operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. You will be a key point of contact for operational troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives on the plant floor. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to operational success and gain broad experience in a supportive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment failures, implementing timely and effective solutions.
• Support new product introductions and process modifications from an operational perspective.
• Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and internal company policies.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to optimize asset performance and reduce downtime.

Requirements

• BEng in Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 3-5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or operations role.
• Practical knowledge of process control, P&IDs, and plant equipment.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
