Operations Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking logistics and distribution company, is seeking a highly skilled Operations Engineer to optimize their extensive network operations. This role, based remotely but with potential for occasional travel, will focus on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of warehousing, transportation, and inventory management systems. You will be responsible for analyzing operational data, designing scalable solutions, and collaborating with site managers and technology teams to drive significant improvements. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative solutions to improve warehouse operations , including layout, workflow, and automation.
• Analyze transportation logistics to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.
• Develop and maintain inventory management systems and strategies to ensure accuracy and minimize holding costs.
• Collaborate with IT and software development teams to implement and enhance operational technology platforms.
• Conduct performance analysis of operational KPIs and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Champion best practices in operational efficiency and safety across all facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations engineering , supply chain management, or logistics.
• Proven experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in statistical analysis and simulation modeling .
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive change in a distributed team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
