About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and results-oriented Operations Lead specializing in manufacturing to join their facility in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This position requires a leader who can drive operational excellence in a dynamic production environment. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw material management to finished goods, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production targets. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of manufacturing operations and a commitment to continuous improvement within the Sunderland plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize all manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand and minimize downtime.
- Oversee inventory management of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Lead and mentor the production team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and high performance.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for production efficiency and quality control.
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to resolve production issues and drive improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations management.
- Proven track record in improving production efficiency and reducing manufacturing costs.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Experience with production planning and ERP systems.
