Operations Manager - FMCG Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven Operations Manager to oversee their FMCG manufacturing facility in Bristol . This critical role demands a leader with a strong background in production management, lean manufacturing principles, and supply chain optimization within a high-volume environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective production of high-quality goods, leading a diverse team of operational staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations are met.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency using lean methodologies.
• Lead, train, and motivate a large operational team, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and high performance.
• Oversee inventory management, production planning, and scheduling to ensure timely order fulfilment.
• Implement and maintain robust quality control systems to ensure product integrity and compliance.
• Manage the operational budget, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report on operational performance to senior management.

Requirements

• Significant experience in operations management within the FMCG manufacturing sector.
• Proven expertise in implementing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
• In-depth knowledge of production planning, inventory control, and quality assurance processes.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
