About the Role
Our client is looking for an accomplished Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations for their FMCG products in Portsmouth . This senior role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective production of high-quality goods. You will lead a dedicated team, implement process improvements, and drive operational excellence to meet demanding production schedules and quality standards. This is a critical on-site position in our Portsmouth facility, requiring strong leadership and a deep understanding of manufacturing within the fast-moving consumer goods industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the manufacturing plant operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and capital expenditure projects to ensure optimal plant functionality.
- Collaborate with supply chain, R&D, and sales departments to meet market demands and product specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an Operations Management role, preferably within FMCG manufacturing .
- Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
