About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Operations Manager to lead their manufacturing operations in Derby, Derbyshire . This leadership position involves overseeing all aspects of production, supply chain, quality, and health & safety to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability. You will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies, managing budgets, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of modern manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational strategies to meet business objectives and enhance competitiveness.
• Manage the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, including production, logistics, and inventory control.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operational management team and staff.
• Monitor operational performance, identify key metrics, and implement improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage budgets and control operational expenditures effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Significant experience in operations management, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record in driving process improvements and achieving operational excellence.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent financial acumen and budget management experience.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and supply chain management principles in Derby .
