Job Description
As Process Engineer you will be responsible with the optimisation and improvement of the industrial processes for Transformer Fitting Operations at Wilson Power Solutions.
- Time Studies for different operations on the shop floor
- Create Routings for different product types or product families
- Support Operations Planner with releasing Works Orders and ensuring all documentation has been uploaded correctly in MRP / SharePoint.
- Work with Contracts, Quality and Engineering to ensure that the technical documentation is correct and updated when required
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Requirements in all industrial activities
- Continually review and update data input in MRP (logins on jobs, operation confirmations)
- Conduct root cause analysis using problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and productivity.
- Monitor process performance and recommend improvements.
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 2 years’ experience in process engineering in manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience of working with transformers is desirable
- Experience with process validation and statistical process control (SPC).
- Excellent I.T. skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with ERP / MRP systems
- Flexibility to adapt to change
- Ability to work to strict timelines
- Good interpersonal skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Salary & Benefits
Salary negotiable dependent on experience
37.5 hours per week (office based)
