Operations Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking an efficient and proactive Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations within their FMCG distribution centre in Reading . This role is critical for ensuring smooth workflow, managing a team of warehouse staff, and maintaining high standards of productivity, safety, and quality. You will be responsible for scheduling, task delegation, and problem-solving to ensure efficient movement of goods and adherence to operational targets. The ideal candidate will have experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff to ensure efficient and timely completion of operational tasks.
• Manage daily operational workflows, including receiving, warehousing, order picking, and dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
• Train, mentor, and motivate the warehouse team to achieve performance goals.
• Monitor inventory levels and oversee accurate stocktaking processes.
• Address operational issues and implement corrective actions promptly to minimize disruptions.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a supervisor or team leader, preferably in a warehouse or FMCG operations setting.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management principles and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and relevant software.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
