Operations Support Specialist - Commercial Vehicle

About the role

Supporting Business Operations, responsible for providing administrative, operational and logistical support to ensure the best efficiency and functioning of the business in day-to-day operations. Working closely with all other departments to maintain and improve processes and support organisational goals to keep moving forwards.

Reporting to the Operations Manager

Working Location

BYD’s Reading site RG2 0TG (Fully Office-based)

Key responsibilities

• Provide day to day operational and administrative support to teams and departments.
• Maintain accurate records, databases and documentation.
• Prepare, compile and analyse reports to support business decisions.
• Coordinate communications between internal departments.
• Monitor operational processes and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Assist with scheduling, meetings, travel arrangements and event coordination.
• Process and track invoices, purchase orders and other operational documents and needs.
• Support compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to customer, client and employee enquiries.
• Assist in resolving operational issues and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Manage filing systems and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support project implementation and provide administrative assistance to project teams.

Your profile

• Previous experience in operations support, administration, customer services, or a related role.
• Strong organisational skills and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
