Experienced Optical Assistant - Brigg, North Lincolnshire
£26,000 to £29,000 DOE | Full or Part Time | Independent Opticians | Progression Opportunities
Zest Optical are working with a well-established, family-run independent opticians to recruit an experienced Optical Assistant.
Predominantly based at their Brigg practice, you will join a friendly team that provides high-quality NHS and private eye care to a loyal local patient base. The business is undergoing an exciting period of investment and development, including practice refurbishments and plans for continued growth.
This would be an excellent opportunity for a confident Optical Assistant who enjoys delivering a personal service and would like to take on greater responsibility over time.
Optical Assistant - Role
- Providing a warm and professional service to patients
- Dispensing a wide range of frames and lenses
- Offering confident frame styling and lens advice
- Completing collections, adjustments and minor repairs
- Supporting patients throughout their journey, from arrival through to aftercare
- Building strong relationships with a loyal and varied patient base
- Helping with ordering, stock management and general practice administration
- Working closely with the Optometrists and wider practice team
- Supporting both the Brigg and Ashby practices, with the majority of time initially spent in Brigg
- Taking on additional responsibilities as the role and business develop
Optical Assistant - Requirements
- Previous experience working within an optical practice is essential
- Confident dispensing skills and good optical knowledge
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, approachable and comfortable building rapport with patients
- Reliable, proactive and able to work independently
- An interest in progressing and taking on greater responsibility
- Must be comfortable working every Saturday
Optical Assistant - Salary and Benefits
- Salary between £26,000 and £29,000 depending on experience
- Full-time or part-time options considered - to include a Sat
- Working hours typically 8:30am to 4:30pm
- No late evenings
- 28 days' holiday including bank holidays for full-time employees
- Practice closure for approximately two weeks over Christmas, using part of the annual leave allowance
- Support and potential funding towards further qualifications, including the Dispensing Optician course
- Genuine opportunity to develop into a senior or management position across both practices
