Optical Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust optical network solutions , including DWDM, OTN, and fibre optic systems.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to meet increasing bandwidth demands.
• Perform network troubleshooting and fault diagnosis for optical transmission equipment and fibre infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain optical network documentation, including topology diagrams and test results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical networks with other transport technologies.
• Evaluate and recommend new optical technologies and equipment to enhance network capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong background in optical networking and telecommunications principles.
• In-depth knowledge of DWDM, OTN, GPON, and other optical transmission technologies.
• Experience with optical test equipment and fibre characterization techniques.
• Familiarity with network management systems and protocols used in optical networks.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve complex optical network problems.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
