Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant

Salary up to £31k for Dispensing Optician or £26,748.80 per annum which increases to £27,684.80 FTE per annum after our CEA course

Bayfields Opticians & Audiologists have rebranded our Optical Assistant job titles so you will be joining as a Client Experience Advisor based in our Barrow Upon Soar practice (LE12 8PY) or as a Dispensing Optician.

Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician or Client Experience Advisor for 5 days / 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service.
• Assist customers in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and other optical products.
• Dispense single focus lenses, multi‑focal lenses and contact lenses.
• Schedule appointments and manage bookings.
• Maintain product displays and ensure the store is tidy and presentable.
• Handle administrative tasks, including processing payments and orders.

What We’re Looking For

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A keen interest in eye care and eyewear.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• The ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Previous experience in optical retail.
