Overview

Asda Opticians in Eastleigh seeks a full‑time, permanent, registered optometrist to deliver high‑quality patient care and support our team. The role involves eye examinations, contact lens fitting and extended NHS service projects.

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent, Days shift (40 hrs/week)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Complete routine eye examinations and contact lens assessments.
• Deliver extended NHS service examinations and follow‑up for eye conditions.
• Work with Dispensing Optician Manager to support training, coaching and maintain departmental standards.
• Support clinical and service queries across in‑store, regional and home‑office teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
• Registered performer with NHS area team or health board.
• MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to attain accreditation within 12 months, funded and supported).
• On track to meet statutory CPD requirements.
• Right to work in the UK and evidence of NHS performer list and 2 clinical references.

Shift Pattern

Days shift – 09:00 to 17:30, 40 hours per week.

Rota

• Week 1: Saturday 09:00–17:30, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 09:00–17:30.
• Week 2: Monday–Friday 09:00–17:30.
