Outreach Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Lancaster, Lancashire
Start Date: Immediate (ASAP)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Term Time Only)
Salary/Pay Rate: 15.31 - 21.55 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke 1:1 intervention programmes focusing on core subjects (Literacy/Numeracy) or social-emotional learning (SEMH) within alternative provision bases.
- Work flexibly across various alternative settings, community hubs, or designated outreach learning spaces within the Lancaster district.
- Adapt teaching and intervention materials to suit individual student learning styles and developmental needs.
- Track, record, and report student progress closely to senior leadership and external educational agencies.
- Build positive, mentoring relationships with disengaged students to re-engage them in their education and personal development.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold an official HLTA status (or equivalent relevant professional qualification).
- Proven experience delivering 1:1 interventions or targeted support, ideally within an alternative provision, outreach, or SEND context.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills tailored to vulnerable learners.
- A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one quickly).
- Full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport for travel across the Lancaster locality is preferred.
