Job Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for painting and decorating, including cleaning, sanding, filling, and scraping as required. Apply paint, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes to a high standard. Protect floors, furniture, and fixtures to prevent damage during works. Carry out minor repairs and touch-ups to ensure a consistent, professional finish. Work to specifications and follow site instructions to meet deadlines. Maintain a clean and safe working area throughout each job. Use tools and equipment correctly, ensuring they are kept in good condition. Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues to ensure expectations are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Painter/Decorator, with a strong eye for detail and finish quality. Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation methods, and finishing standards. Ability to work neatly and efficiently, with good time management on site. Competence with hand tools and decorating equipment (including rollers, brushes, and cutting-in tools). Experience with wallpaper hanging and/or decorative finishing is desirable. Sound understanding of health and safety practices on construction and domestic sites. Good communication skills and a professional approach when working around customers. Full UK driving licence is beneficial (where travel between sites is required). Relevant qualifications (such as City & Guilds in Painting and Decorating) are advantageous. CSCS card (or willingness to obtain) is preferred for site-based work. 39 hours working Monday to Friday
