Pallet Network Operative

About the Role

Our client requires a diligent and physically fit Pallet Network Operative to join their busy distribution centre in Portsmouth . This role is essential for the efficient processing and dispatch of palletized freight within their network. You will be responsible for handling, sorting, and preparing pallets for onward transport, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming palletized freight.
• Sort and consolidate pallets according to delivery destinations and network requirements.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts (if certified), to move pallets.
• Ensure all pallets are securely wrapped and labelled for dispatch.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with drivers and other warehouse staff to ensure smooth dispatch operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Familiarity with handling and processing palletized goods.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and manual handling.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Forklift truck license (RTITB or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.
